Pinkfong’s “Baby Shark” is doing its part to combat the spread of COVID-19 and the novel coronavirus with the Baby Shark Handwash Challenge.
The song is a remix of the ubiquitous viral hit “Baby Shark,” which broke into the Billboard Top 100 in 2019, that has been a unifying theme for the Washington Nationals as they marched to the World Series and has inspired a live tour, a Netflix series and a line of best-selling toys.
As part of the challenge “Wash Your Hands With Baby Shark” parents are encouraged to upload videos of their children washing hands to the song using the hashtag #BabySharkHandWashChallenge.

The two-decade old song enjoyed a major resurgence thanks to the Pinkfong version, which was re-released in 2016. Since then the accompanying video has over 2 billion YouTube views. The song gained widespread notoriety after it inspired a viral video trend, the Baby Shark Dance Challenge.
