Underwater explorer Jean-Michel Cousteau, son of the legendary Jacques Cousteau, and film icon Arnold Schwarzenegger have teamed up for a new stunning underwater 3D film that will debut nationwide this week.
According to the film’s official synapses, “Wonders of the Sea 3D” takes viewers on a trip under the ocean, capturing incredible footage of rarely seen sea creatures, while warning about the impacts of climate change. From Fiji to the Bahamas, Jean Michel Cousteau and his children Celine and Fabien embark on a voyage to discover the ocean as never before seen and learn more about the threats that put our ocean at risk.
“Wonders of the Sea” will air in over 700 theaters across the nation on Thursday, January 17.
“It is an important film, with an important message,” Schwarzenegger, who produced and narrated the film, said. “When I saw the footage, I realized straight away this is a visual feast. It was just not entertaining but it was also from an environmental point of view, a message: ‘let’s keep our oceans clean, and let’s keep our world clean.’”
“Wonders of the Sea” was captured with new technologies to create the incredible never-before-seen images, shot underwater in Native 3D 4K. Following the premiere, presented by Fathom Events, there will be a video interview featuring Cousteau and Schwarzenegger and exclusive behind the scenes footage.
“This event seeks to educate audiences on one of the most unknown facets of our world, the ocean,” Fathom Events CEO Ray Nutt said. “We are excited to bring this stimulating and educational content to movie theaters nationwide for moviegoers of all ages to enjoy.”
