To celebrate the release of their new music video “Spiraling Down”, Fine Life has launched its “Save our Sharks” campaign and fundraiser for the Shark Research Institute, and their mission in shark conservation and the full ban of the shark fin trade.
The fundraiser will be open until August 2. Click here to donate now.
A healthy shark population creates a healthy marine ecosystem for our oceans. Humans are currently slaughtering 100 million sharks each year! 70% of shark populations have disappeared in the last 50 years. Sharks are prehistoric creatures, and humans causing their endangerment and possible extinction is unforgivable. This decline is mainly due to the shark fin trade. Shark finners catch live sharks, cut off their fins, and throw them back into the water. The sharks, unable to swim, will then “spiral down” to the bottom of the ocean until they dies of either suffocation or starvation.
The more awareness this campaign can spread, and the more understanding people can obtain towards these species, the more likely we can save our sharks, save our seas, save our selves. There’s no reason to fear shark-filled waters, only sharkless waters. It’s our job to make sure this never happens!
