America’s biggest convention for shark enthusiasts is returning for its sixth year.
Shark-Con 6 will be held at the Florida Fairgrounds in Tampa, Florida on July 13 and 14. Advanced tickets are $19.95 for a single day adult pass, $24.95 for a two-day adult pass, $4.95 for a one-day child pass (13 and under) or $7.50 for two days. Tickets purchased on the day of the event will be an additional $5.00.
As usual, Shark-Con will offer an array of shark-related activities suitable for both adults and kids including interactive exhibits courtesy of the Florida Aquarium and the Living Shark Museum, fossil digs, slides, bounce houses and rides. On Sunday, there will be an exclusive screening of Mako Shark Evolutions: A Guy Harvey Expedition followed by a Q& A with the director George Schellenger.
The event will also feature a variety of panels and guest speakers on a variety of topics from shark conservation to entertainment. To kick things off, there will be a panel of veterans from Shark Week on Discovery Channel including Joe Romeiro, Dr. Neil Hammerschlag
Stefanie Brendl and Jamin Martinelli. Saturday’s highlights also include a Spongebob Squarepants panel featuring Rodger Bumpass (Squidward) and Lori Alan (Peal Krabs), and a special Shark Attack 20th anniversary panel with actor Ernie Hudson.
Sunday will feature a Jaws-themed panel with guests Joe Alves (designer of Bruce the shark, assistant director – Jaws, Director – Jaws 3D), Jeffrey Voorhees (Alex Kitner) and Susan Backlinie (Chrissie), and an OCEARCH panel with Dr. Bob Hueter and captain Brett McBride.
