Conservationist caught this footage of a female great white shark, which was possibly pregnant feeding on a whale carcass approximately 14 miles off the coast of Dana Point in California on Friday.
The 16-foot shark was seen returning to the site repeatedly over a nearly 24-hour span until she was so engorged by whale blubber that she appeared to be in an intoxicated state.
“The white shark showed up Friday night at 7 pm and she stayed there eating about every 15 to 30 minutes she would come back to eat more until Saturday at noon,” Poe told The Sun Online.
Poe and his fellow research team were able to affix a tracking tag to the shark as it was feeding.
