The site is founded on fundamental journalistic principles that attempts to make science communication available to a broader audience by entertaining as well as informing.

If you have the expertise, we can provide a platform. Scientists, biologists, artists, and activists are encouraged to become guest columnists to share their expertise with a broader audience.

Guest columns can include, but are not limited to, opinion editorials, expert testimonials, or personal narratives. We want to make Sharkophile.com a place where a multitude of voices regarding sharks can be heard and we do that by opening up our platform to experts like you.

Guest columns that meet our publishing guidelines (see below) are featured across the site and social media. In exchange for your exclusive content, you will be able to promote your latest project or event, fundraising effort, political initiative or educational product to our audience at no cost to you.

CORRESPONDENTS

Sharkophile reports on a wide variety of shark-related topics from all over the world. From news briefs to enterprise features, we try and share as much news as possible. As an independent news outlet, we aren’t afraid to say that we can’t keep up with all the news that happens everyday. 1. All submissions must adhere to our core values of education, conservation and accuracy in reporting. Submissions that include false information meant to mislead the audience or that promote behaviors that could be considered harmful to sharks will not be accepted.
2. All submissions are subject to editorial oversight by site staff. Submitted copy may be edited for content, length and style.
3. All featured content must be exclusive to Sharkophile.com and may not be republished, in whole or in part, in other online media.
4. Submissions that contain offensive material, porn, or spam are prohibited.
5. Submissions that include affiliate links, third-party advertisements, deceptive SEO practices such as hidden trackback links, or any other form of malicious or fraudulent code is strictly prohibited.
6. For SEO purposes, search engine indexing will be blocked for all repurposed content and press releases. Outgoing html links in these articles will be tagged as “no follow.”
7. By submitting content, including photos and video, you agree that you are the copyrights holder to that content or have obtained consent to allow for publication.
8. By submitting content, including photos and video, you agree to allow Sharkophile to use that content for editorial  and promotional purposes, including on social media. Sharkophile will never reuse submitted content for marketing or republication without the consent of the rights holder. The contributor retains all rights to submitted content unless otherwise noted.
9. Sharkophile uses an independent, third-party advertising provider. By submitting content you agree that ads may appear along with the content. Sharkophile is not responsible for the content of these ads. Affiliate links may also be embedded to corresponding content.
10. Final publication decisions remain solely with editorial staff. Any content that violates these guidelines may be removed without notice.
